Dr. Renaud Bollens
Consultant Urologist & Specialist in Minimally Invasive Pelvic Surgery
Dr. Renaud Bollens, M.D., is an internationally respected urologist and a pioneer in minimally invasive pelvic surgery with nearly three decades of experience. He played a central role in advancing laparoscopic techniques within urology during the late 1990s, helping to establish modern standards in minimally invasive pelvic care.
He is credited with inventing Endoscopic Piriformis Section Surgery, an innovative technique that transformed treatment for piriformis syndrome by providing a safer and more precise alternative to open surgery. Dr. Bollens is also among the few surgeons worldwide with extensive experience in laparoscopic pudendal nerve decompression, contributing significantly to the evolution of surgical care for chronic pelvic and perineal pain.
He has trained more than 200 surgeons in advanced pelvic and nerve-related procedures, expanding the adoption of safe and effective minimally invasive techniques across Europe and the Middle East. His expertise includes complex laparoscopic pelvic surgery, pelvic nerve release procedures, and minimally invasive repair of bladder and ureteral structures, drawing patients internationally for highly specialized care.
